Recent Notes in Calendar, new position for menu in popup

Still, Timeframe is the best time tracking app for my needs.

But there are always a few minor improvements that would simplify everyday use. Perhaps this can be taken into account.

  1. I always spend longer searching in the popup after clicking on the menu bar item at the top (MacOs) when I want to call up the “Main Window.” The buttons are somewhat differently designed, but they still easily get lost in the multitude of information, so they are not quickly perceived by my eye (perhaps also an individual problem).
A suggestion would be to place the menu with More…, Task List, Main Window, Quit Timeframe at the end of the popup below the “Recent Tasks.” This positioning simplifies the quick perception of these buttons.
Maybe there are other ideas for how the buttons can be found better in the information jumble.
  2. Since I frequently use the calendar to add new entries and also add notes to practically all tasks, it would be very helpful if the Recent Notes could also be selected in the popup (after double-clicking on an entry in the calendar).

Thanks
Martin

Thank you for the feedback, Martin!

That’s a great idea! I have now implemented the feature to add “Recent Notes” in Calendar and Timings View. It will be available in the next update soon.

Yes, I have thought about this quite a bit before. I initially wanted to place these at the bottom of the popup, but then decided against it for two reasons:

  • When filtering Tasks using the search field, the list of filtered Tasks can get very long. That means the buttons will move to the bottom of the screen (or move out of view completely)
  • In general, i think elements that are used frequently should be at the top, because they are quicker to reach there

Did you know you can define a shortcut for “Show Main Window” in Timeframe Settings? This is another way to quickly open the Main Window, even without opening the menu bar popup.

Yes, that’s true, the positioning at the end of the popup would not be optimal.
With the shortcut, my requirement is fulfilled, I hadn’t considered that, perfect, thank you.
Thank you also for the addition of the Recent Notes in the next update.
