Calendar: Extending/shortening duration of time entries only works sporadically

My system: MacOs 15.3.1 Sequoia, MacBook Pro

Is there any chance that the handling for changing the duration of time entries in the calendar will work consistently?
At the moment it is a tedious trial & error until the handles for extending or shortening the duration of existing time entries are displayed and can be used with the mouse.
It only works reproducibly if you take the focus away from the app and click back into the app, but this is of course not a useful workaround.
Moving the time entries in the calendar is not a problem (double arrow), it always works.

Is there possibly a trick that I don’t know?

If not, I have the following ideas for a solution, but of course I have no idea whether this can be realised:
The handle for shortening and lengthening the duration is always displayed when the COMMAND key or alternatively the SHIFT key is pressed. The two buttons currently cover the same function, if I understand correctly.
Or it is always displayed when the info bubble is visible.
Or the function can be activated in the right-clicking menu of an entry.

Thanks for reporting this!
But I’m not quite sure what you mean.
The handles (gray squares) are only displayed when the height of the Timing is very short. In all other cases the duration of the Timings can be adjusted by dragging the “top” or “bottom” of the Timing (as indicated by the resize mouse cursor when hovering over those areas).

It’s not about the grey boxes, but about the cursor shown in the screenshot and the associated function.

This function is basically not available to me, only sporadically, a trial & error and also not really reproducible as I have just discovered. Removing the focus from the app doesn’t work reliably either.
It works once in a while and then no longer works with all time entries. Instead, I only ever see the double arrow at the beginning and end.
I often need this function.

This is what it looks like, only the move function.

The video shows the following:
Double-click on an entry, Info Bubble appears.
If I now move the cursor to the bottom edge, the function is displayed for a moment, but at some point the cursor changes and the change function is not available to me, not even for other entries.

Thanks for the detailed description!
I’m unable to reproduce it for now… Are you using the trackpad or an external mouse on you MacBook?

I use the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S for Mac.
I connected the Apple Magic Mouse for a test and then uninstalled all the drivers for the Logitech.
It makes no difference, even if I don’t use a mouse at all and only navigate with the trackpad.

Unfortunately, there are so many parameters that can cause this. I’ll try to switch off everything I suspect one by one. Maybe I can narrow down the cause.

It seems to be only a temporary problem, I’ll have to see what the cause is.
After restarting the computer it works fine now, maybe I should restart the computer more often, it often runs for days without restarting.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, I also don’t restart my MacBook for days… Please let me know when this happens again or if you are able to narrow down the cause.
